DTE Project Gaming Glove 2021

 Hello everyone, for the past couple of weeks we have been put in groups of 4 to make a project using the Makey Makey or a robotic that moves we had to come up with a idea for our project and once we have thinked we started to make our project. Using a glove and we assembled our project through the Makey Makey that controls games by pressing one of the buttons. And we have been put in to 4 groups to make this project so it will be able to work better I hope you guys well enjoy my blog post about our project about it. 

This is the project we have decided to make through the couple of weeks during the time we had to think about what we want to make so we had some few ideas but then we made our final decision and. We have picked the glove that well be able to control a game so once we have had picked it we started to develop our project through the Makey Makey that will bring it to be able to work after we have decided to choose the Makey Makey instead of the robotics then we started to develop our idea  so we got the box for the Makey Makey and started to. Make the glove what we did first was to get a glove and then get the wires/cords ready from the Makey Makey so it will be able to function better once we got the cords/wires we started to see what well be left, right, up and down so it will work in our games. After we figured out the function of it and how it well work we ended up assembling the glove we have had a couple of attempts of making it working because we had to see what is the best way and neatest so it will work after we got it to work the images are down below. So it shows what we did for the past  couple of weeks for our project so we have assembled at the end we were be able to play games with the glove after a few testing to see how it works.

For people that are unvaccinated so they are going to go in to lockdown at midnight on a Sunday because they want to help stop the Covid 19 from spreading and when the lockdown begins it will last for at least 10 days. And when the lockdown hits the police well start to drive around different areas to make sure people are fully vaccinated because if they are not they will fine them up to 1450 euros because they are unvaccinated. Hello everyone, in class today we have been doing some reading on stuff articles and I have chosen a article about the police units will target who will be a abusive towards retail customer and the police will try and focus on the safety for the retail staff team. So the retail staff will be able to be safe around abusive retail customers that would come in to the store and be abusive to the customers the retail in NZ losses $1 billion a year from retail offending and there has been a increase of people, in abuse of the staff members by customers that walks in to one of the retail store so that's the article I have been reading about in class. Passion Projects | Reflection Section

Hello everyone yesterday we have been doing passion projects and we had to present our slide what we have talked in front of the class the passion project I have decided to choose to do is making. Push go karts and we had to make the push go kart from scratch so the push go kart groups went to the Bunnings to grab what we need so we can start making our push go karts. Once we have grabbed our stuff we begin on making the project once we have finished we had a bit of a race with the push go karts and their was a bit of a crash from one of the groups that went after we did the race we had to make a slide show and present what we did in front of our class. I will be showing you my push go kart what my group has made in the past couple of weeks from making the push go kart I hope you will enjoy it.

And when he was riding down the track he crashed his mountain bike while going down a track and the Fire crew was called from a person that reported the accident when the fire crew responded to the accident on the track they garbed a stretcher. To take it towards the person they have transported the patient to the Hospital and he had arm and back injures that happened from the crash. The word out to the world they are trying to get the Covid Vaccination roll out so everyone can get there Covid vaccination in time so that is what's happening in Melbourne for the Covid lockdown.

Hello everyone in Social Studies we have been watching a movie called Sea Spraicy this movie is all about a documentary film about the ocean and how the environment is going during, the film they were talking about how plastic is killing the fish and whales there was tones of plastic in a whales stomach.  And then there was  tones of whales on the beach this is how. All of the whales are getting killed from the plastic because people are leaving plastic in the ocean, also they are saying during the film that when people are fishing then the nets well end up dropping in to the ocean and it well end up as, a garbage patch so that is what we have been doing in social studies.

A problem that we are having today is that the ocean is starting to, get worse this is because people are starting to throw rubbish on the roads and not putting it in the rubbish bin it is starting to lead to the ocean witch well be starting to kill the whales and fish in the ocean. And when the plastic lands in to the water then the whales or fish would think it's food, for them and they would be eating it and it will make the fish and whales sick in the ocean also the causes and effects for this is that the effects of it would be that if the ocean dies then we die and the causes. Would be is that people well throwing garbage around the country that will lead up in to the ocean and it can kill the fish and whales.

Metal Reactions

                                                                   Metal + Acid 

In science today we were doing a experiment and we have been learning about Metals and acid and how it all reacts when, we put Metal and Acid together in a tube then after a while it would make a pop sound so we have used magnesium for our metal.  

Equation -   Metal + acid > Metal Salt 

Method -  Light your Bunsen burner  Add your sample of metal to your test tube. Add 2 ml of acid.  Carefully invert the boiling tube above the test tube containing the metal and as shown in the diagram below.  

Conclusion  -   After we did the experiment it made a pop sound. 

                                                                 Glowing Splint 

In science we did another experiment where we had to grab a splint, and then we garbed the splint and light it and put it in the test tube with manganese dioxide in it  once we put that, in there we then put the splint with fire in it with the manganese's dioxide in it after we put it in there it would start to boil. 

Equation -   Metal Oxide + hydrogen Oxide > Metal Peroxide 

Method -  1. Light your Bunsen burner. 2. Add Manganese dioxide to the boiling tube and place it in your test tube rack. 3. Add 2mL of hydrogen peroxide. 4. Light a splint and let it burn for a while. 5. Blow the Splint out and insert the glowing embers into the mouth of the boiling tube. 

Conclusion - After we did this it started to boil when it reacts with the manganese dioxide. 

 

                                                                 Lime Water Test 

The lime water test is where we get test tubes and we well get a hose that well end up moving the, Lime water to the acid after this we well put the lime water in the tube and  it will start to bubble in the tube and it would end up fogging up making more bubbles when we add more acid in it. 

Aim - To Show that carbo Dioxide gas is produced when a metal carbonate reacts with acid. 

Equipment - Two boiling tubes. Delivery tube and bung. Bunsen burner, test tube rack. Wooden splint, a bottle of acid small amount of metal carbonate test tube tongs. 

Method - 1. Light your Bunsen burner. 2. Add a pea sized amount of the metal carbonate into one of the boiling tubes 3. Place this boiling tube into a test tube rack ensure you have the bung and delivery tub e ready. 4. Add 5Ml of acid to the boiling tube and quickly insert the bung and delivery tube into the mouth of the boiling tube. 5. Holding the other boiling tube with your tongs, capture the gas produced as shown in the diagram below. 6. When you think the tube is full, your lab partner should light a wooden splint. 7. Carefully remove the boiling tube from under the deliver tube, taking care to keep it facing upright.  8. Insert the burning splint into the mouth of the test tube. 

                                                           

Environment Social Study's

Hello everyone for the past week in social studies we have been learning about the environment and how it is from now, so we have learnt that there is tones of plastic in the ocean and it is killing the fish and whales in the ocean. And people are dumbing different things in the ocean  and it can kill the sea animals in the ocean also we have been learning about the population as well in social studies, so that is what I have learnt about what is happening and I think that this is bad for the environment because sea animals can die from plastic and we can do about this is we can help from not throwing plastic in the ocean I hope you well enjoy my blog post.

In San Diego that is why he does not like Mondays Bob Geldof was involved in singing at concert's in a band, he organized 8 live concerts to play in front of people around the world.

In, 1984 Midge Ure was a Scottish singer he was in bands together with Bob Geldof he was in 7 bands. At the time he became the bubblegum band silk in 1974 he then left the band to join the rich kids it was a punk pop group.

The music  is called do they know it's Christmas was made in 1984 and the reason why Bob gledof has made, this song is because he wanted to let everyone know it's Christmas and also the reason why he put this song together is so they want everyone to remember the song and listen to it to see what it's meaning. They also recruited tones of British pop stars to perform this concert in time for the next holiday's.

My Culture

Hello I am Jacob Willams I am from Christchurch and I am 14 Years Old my Mum was born in New Zealand and my dad was born there as well, and for my I want to become a truck driver so I can drive around the city. Also my flag is the New Zealand flag and it represents my culture my river is called the waimakariri river and that is the river, I am sort of a fan of the All blacks rugby game and my prime minister is Jacinda ardern my favorite bird is called the kiwi that is because it can see in the dark clearly. The New Zealand Bird is a part of New Zealand  my favorite sport to play is soccer because it is fun to play.

Acid Rain Experiment

Hi everyone in Science, today we have been doing a experiment and the experiment we are doing is the acid rain experiment and the acid rain is caused from the chemical reaction in the air and. Then the reaction begins when the compounds of the sulfur dioxide and also nitrogen oxide and after that it, releases in the air so that is what the acid rain chemical is all about so I'll be showing you the method and the pictures of what it looks like. 

Hypothomes: Petal, Calcium Carbonate, Apple, Universal Indicator, Bromothymol blue.   

Method: In a petri dish place items around edge. Wet, dry ingredients with drop of water. In the middle put a weigh bout. 

What happened in the experiment: During the experiment the Apple did not react with the acid and after that the Petal did not react, to the acid the Calcium Carbonate did not react with the acid it has not been touched also the Bromothymol blue has not been reacted yet in the experiment and the Universal Indicator did not react with the acid.

In, Social Study's today we have been learning about the Vietnam War was about and what songs they did. Beatles Tour To New Zealand

 Hello, everyone for the past week we have been learning about the beetles and where they have played during the concert. The first concert they did was in New Zealand there song was playing for nearly 30 minutes, and including 11 songs played and that set the fans off they were screaming during the song. Also they had 300 fans in the concert watching them, they were getting a bit annoyed because they always hear people screaming during the song. During the movie and they had to buy all the building parts for the Zoo so they can reopen it so they get more people in the zoo and that what happened during the movie so far.

Hello everyone in social study's last week, we were watching a documentary about how world war 1 has started. And what happened during the war they had to fight the different country's such as German, Austria Hungary in world war 1 people can apply to be apart of WW1 you have to be either 17 or older to apply but some, people apply if they are 14 or younger and they don't ask for there ID if they say they are 14 they will be sent out and back in and tell them another age once they have applied for the. 

 War you had to grab your uniform and then they have to march, and they had to listen to there commands if they did not listen they well be having a punishment for not listening to the commander. After they have listened to the people they were ready for the war to happen once they war has started, they had to shoot all of the people that they are fighting against so that is what happened during Ww1 I hope you well enjoy this.

 Hello everyone today we were learning about Parihaka and how they singed the song in the video, so in the video I will be showing you some questions about the song and the lyrics they have used in the video.  Hello, everyone for the past week we have been making a map in Social Study's and its about the treaty and the west Africa people slaves. And how they live so as slaves they had to do a spiritual song so they can can fell all their felling's they have in their body Harriet Tubman was, born has a slave and Harriet was trying to escape and the Underground railroad was a way to get away from the. Bad people the spiritual song they use to hide messages was wade in the water and they were using that song, was to send a hidden message  to the other people the message was wade in the water. And that was for to tell the people that their is a way to escape from the dogs because the dogs can not smell the people from the water, so they have to swim in the water to get towards there location to escape. The events they have used today are still significant as of today because the other slaves have escaped, so they can't track them because they used the water to escape from the dogs. Hello, everyone last week we were reading a article about Donald Trump and to know what happened.  In the article and in the article it was telling us about the big data and how dangerous it is was in the story, also it was telling us about the election and how political communication might work in the future. Kosinski gives regular lectures on this topic all over the world big data means in essence is that everything, that we do both on online and offline and it leaves digital traces on the internet. In early 2014 Kosinski was approached by a younger assistant, professor psychology in the department called Aleksandr Kogan  so that is what happened in the article that we have read about.  So I hope you guy's well enjoy my blog post on the article what we read.

 The film Treaty of Waitangi what really happened, directed by Peter Burger, is about the signing of one of our founding documents. It is a dramatization of the days landing up to and including the signing. We know this through the chiefs arguing, discussing and assigning the treaty based on history. We also know through the films and the voiceovers. 

Cyber Safety

 Hello everyone in ICT class we were doing cyber safety and learning about how to keep safe online, if you want to keep safe online you have to keep your personal information safe so no one can have your information, and you have to use a stronger password online so the hackers can not guess your password. When you are online you have to use 2 step verification so the people, can not get in to your account because they need your code to get in. And you have to think about clicking a link on a website before the hackers can take your information, so I hope you guy's well enjoy my blog post and keep safe online bye.

Hi everyone in class we had to watch a film on the Treaty Waitangi and, we had to write a summery on the film we have watched. In the film the Maori people signs the treaty and then they had to translate the words, so they can say it to the English people so they understand what they are saying their were lots of arguments. And discussions on the weather after the people signs the treaty they get Tabaco and blankets so the crown wrote out the treaty in to the English words, so that is what happened in treaty of Waitangi I hope you guys we'll enjoy this blog post about the Treaty.
